War THunder IS ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME GAMES ON THE NET
When it was first revealed by Gaijin Games that War Thunder was in development, many gamers thought that things could possibly get quite interesting, simply because what was being promised was the sort of game that many had been crying out for.
Additionally, it was this sort of game that a number of other developers had previously tried and failed to deliver. A game that could possibly provide players with air, land and sea combat at the same time and on the same map.
Whilst War Thunder had some grand plans, they already knew that they would be competing with World of Tanks/Warplanes/Warships, the three titles from Wargaming.net that had proved to be hugely popular across all three. However, Gaijin did not want three separate games and just one to cover all of the vehicles.
Do They Pull it Off?
Well it is still too early to say as War Thunder is still in beta. The air aspect was the first to be implemented and it seems that it is almost complete. The tanks were next and it is now possible to play both ground warfare and air warfare with both tanks and airplanes being able to be controlled in the same environment.
It would be assumed that they would like to iron out any issues with the combination of the air and ground before then working on implementing sea warfare.
Graphics and Gameplay
As far as the air combat goes, the graphics really are sublime and you do feel like you are actually flying a WWII plane whenever you take to the skies. The backgrounds are simply breathtaking and the graphics and gameplay are extremely smooth. World of Warplanes would be a good benchmark to compare this too and it has to be said that War Thunder trumps it in both of these categories.
The game does have its bugs but that s to be expected as it is still an open beta right now but the signs are very promising that this already popular title is only going to get immensely better over time.
